This module is completely experimental for the GnuPG. (Still) It would not have to be used in a production environments.
It offers support to use keys with elliptical curves following the description RFC2440. The standards on which this implementation is based are: the rule P1363 of the IEEE and the FIPS PUB 186-2 of NIST.
The version 0.1.0 has been released on March 10th, 2004, as a patch for the version 1.3.5 of the GnuPG. The current version is 0.2.0, as a patch of the version 1.4.9 of the GnuPG.
